D & D Finish Carpentry

The worst. This company is run by criminals. Workmanship is terrible, horrible delays, the owner Duniel Hernandez just lies though his teeth. Completed less than 20% of the work, took the money and disappeared. Definitely heading to court to deal with this.
STAY AWAY at all cost.

This small family owned shop was recommended, I should have known better based on who recommended me! She showed me a job they did with a vanity in her bathroom and I thought well, maybe it’s just an ugly vanity and handles are weird. Maybe it was just her taste. Now I realize it’s both, her earful taste and this aweful company’s craftsmanship! Basically, terrible craftsmanship. The cabinets are not made well, the shelves are uneven, the material is cheap and inconsistent. Yes, that’s right. Duniel used ‘white gloss’ from two different manufacturers which are actually two different colors. He admits it but doesn’t fix it. Told me to relax he will fix but then comes up with all sorts of excuses. One day it’s his tooth, another he can’t be bothered because he’s working on a large order, then it’s just silience. Very professional guy ignored his clients! I had a feeling I shouldn’t have paid the balance, trust trust your intuition!

Service: terrible! Duniel closes the deal but then sends his dad with a helper to instal. They do not speak a word in English to I hope you speak Spanish so that you can clearly tell them it’s wrong. They argue and cut the pieces then realize that they are wrong. Duniel says he will come visit but that never happens. They made several bad adjustments which are totally visable and he won’t fix it. After all said and done, the quality of work is terrible. Two cabinets came apart. Built in garbage broke on day two because they decided to instal by only using two tiny screws half way drilled in. (Note: only took them 4 hours to instal the garbage cabinet 🤦🏽‍♀️)The chopped up work they created is visable and ugly. You tell them you don’t like something they call you difficult (told my handyman in Spanish) I had a crew of guys working and all of them were instructing Juan on how to fix his mistakes. They admit that they need to fix but don’t respond to come over and get it done.
Stay away from this headache! I should have gone with my intuition and went with another company.

Last Summer of 2017 I agreed to have $7400 worth of carpentry renovations done at my office. By September most of the job was installed, except for two mirrors that took until winter to be installed. Immediately, I claimed a poorly made cabinet door that needed replacing. The owner of D & D promised to replace it. Well into 2018 he would not answer or promise completion of the guarantee for the sloppy door. In April, I had to resend dimensions of the door because he had lost them. He continued with excuses well into the Summer of 2018. I have all the texts and pictures to prove the sloppy work and lies of this owner. He would not answer our calls. Then last week I texted my displeasure and willingness to come forth with a poor review. He actually brushed off my complaint and stated that he had been ready to install the door the following day and was now withholding the delivery. D & D and owner have been neither professional nor responsible to even reach out with a call or apology for it’s disdain and contempt for the fully paid service that was agreed upon. D & D is not a Company of integrity. This is not the way you treat a client or repeat customer. Shame on you and your company.

If I could give negative stars I would. Nice enough people, but work is sub-par. If you have a little condo and want something simple maybe take a chance but they’re not cheap by any means. My house kitchen was $30k without back splash or appliances. They measured wrong I have spaces between appliances and cabinets, doors that don’t open correctly, drawers that don’t close flush, paint is bad on some doors, doors don’t close, crooked handles, caulking and grout are a disaster. They said they would clean up once they were done, nothing. I called and texted for them to come fix the stuff they screwed up. I was very nice and patient. At first I got “yes I’ll be there next week”, now I don’t even get a response. Quick to collect on the payments though. Already called someone to fix what they didn’t do right and plan to file a lawsuit to have them reimburse me for it. STAY AWAY.
