Dr Badia and his team have been so good to us, such a welcoming environment…They made us feel confortable since the moment we arrived and fixed my 4 year old son broken arm. A true blessing. Thank you Dr Badia!!!

my appointment was at 10:30am and i got in at 11:30 only to sit in a room and wait for another hour and 30 minutes. they book way to many appointments for the same day. the dr takes his time with each patients so he takes a long time to get to you. if you are going to see him free your schedule for half day bc you will literally be at the dr office for total about 4 hours.

I suffered a golf injury which resulted in having to have wrist surgery to repair a torn ligament. Dr. Badia was absolutely fantastic, not only in his skill and thoughtfulness as a surgeon, but also in the manner in which he explained the procedure and coached me through my recovery. His staff and office environment is everything a patient can hope for!

My son had an elbow fracture while practicing football at school on May 21, 2018. I got a call from Coach saying that my son had a dislocation on his elbow but it was put back in place and that he was ok. When I went to pick him up I knew he wasn’t ok, his elbow was wrapped with ice and I can see on his face that he was in extreme pain. They told me to take him to the nearest hospital, but I knew the hospital would give me a referral to see an specialist or even worse, to wait who knows how many hours to have an Orthopedic Surgeon (which I did not have a choice) to see my son for “evaluation” as the majority of hospitals does not have Orthopedic Surgeons on site 24 hours. My other option was to take him to a conventional Urgent Care, which I really thought was not a good idea due to the fact that he could be seen by a regular doctor on duty (if I got lucky, otherwise it could be a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) which they will turn us out with a referral to see an Orthopedic Surgeon.

With that being said, I choose to go to OrthoNow the Orthopedic Urgent Care located by my son’s school at Doral. There was no long wait, my son had x-rays done in office and was evaluate it by an orthopedic physician. The bad news, my son had a Head Radius Fracture of the Elbow and needed surgery. I got in panic, it was night time and my son was in some much pain.

The doctor then talked to Dr. Alejandro Badia over the phone and explained my son’s medical condition, per Dr Badia I had to be at his office by next day at 7:30 am, which is located at the same building. He also said to be prepared as my son was scheduled for surgery at Surgery Center at Doral same morning.
Next day, Dr. Badia evaluated my son, and explained the procedure he was to undergo. It sounded simple and fast to recover from.

My son was in surgery for less than an hour, then one hour later, he was recovering from the anesthesia and asking for food lol.
We were home after 2 hours, my son even recorded a video thanking Dr. Badia for the procedure. Pain Medication was prescribed and he only took two pills from the 30 that was prescribed! Pain was minimal, next day he walking around the house being just a typical teenager.

My son had physical therapy at OrthoNow Rehab with a great team for two weeks.
I have to admited that I was very nervous with the outcome, but at the end, I was happy with the decision I made on choosing Dr. Badia and his team!

My son was finally discharged on July 9th, a little bit over a month after the injury and I am so grateful to know that my son’s elbow motion range is back, that there is no permanent medical issues he will face now or in the future, or even worse, to have a second surgery to fix anything done incorrectly.

In overall, the fracture was a little more bigger than we could see on the x-rays, also the scar is very small and most importantly, my son is back on football practice as usual!

I am blessed and grateful to have made the right decision to take my son to the best Orthopedic Surgeon in town!

I will love to share some pictures here. I also will post the before and after images at the Facebook page.
